Join us to celebrate Shawn Bruce’s gallery debut of Free Portraits in partnership with Harlowe Lights! About Shawn Bruce —— Shawn Bruce is a people-centered storyteller whose work explores equity, culture, and community. He helps brands create authentic, people-led campaigns that drive action with audiences across social media, web, and print. About Free Portraits —— With just moments to spare between participants, Shawn photographed 500 people in the streets of SoHo. The project, originally slated as a simple lighting test, quickly took on its own life. Shawn met people on vacation, coming out of the grief, and excitement, of divorces. Some people were celebrating birthdays, new hair styles, and even an actor who needed to practice their facial expressions. He photographed people after work, headed to meetings, on the way to dinner, and so many situations in between. Given this nature, Shawn had only minutes to spare with each person, requiring him to make people comfortable posing on the bustling street as cars and pedestrians moved past.
