Squeaky Wheel* invites you to Washington Heights for An Evening of pizza, treats, hobnobbing, and a staged reading of a classic play which we will not name here. Hobnobbing: 6 PM Reading: 7 PM More Hobnobbing: 9 PM *This is the inaugural reading of Squeaky Wheel, a company born from a desire to re-invigorate the world around us, and to remind everyone - audiences and artists alike - why the wheel (or in this case, theatre) worked so well in the first place. The goal is to use proceeds from smaller readings like this to garner interest and funds, while planning larger scale projects; re-distributing from each project into the next. In a world of Cybertruck and Waymo, we look forward to being Squeaky Wheel. We are asking for a suggested donation of $20 which, along with your entry, includes pizza, coffee, and tea. We want to emphasize that this is a suggested donation - times are tough! While events like this do cost money, and we are starting out with no funding, we hope to keep our work accessible - if finances are your only barrier to attending, please let us know. If you’re a starving artist, less is still wonderful and appreciated. If you have a salary with benefits, you are welcome to choose your own adventure. If you're unable to attend but still wish to contribute, Venmo @gretchen-bates-4 with the note “squeaky wheel”. Additionally, there will be refreshments such as Martha’s Elderberry Elixir and Brewster Bites by @tidbitstagram available for sale, with all proceeds supporting the future of Squeaky Wheel.
