Laurence Lillvik, Nowhere Flower, Ryan Schulte @ Lost Avenue Books

Join us for an evening of music and writing to celebrate Laurence and Ryans' new books: "Catharsis is Never Fully Shorn from Glee" (Trident) and "I Dreamed I Saw Augustine" (Rebel Satori). If precedent holds, they'll talk about Jersey, the Anthropocene, Dylan, dayjobs, and small press publishing. Even better, Nowhere Flower will perform an acoustic set. A perfect night!
Laurence Lillvik (Portland, Oregon) is the editor of "Skullcrushing Hummingbird," an international arts and literature zine. His chapbook "Criterion" (Greying Ghost Press) was a featured small press title at Powell's Books. His poetry has also appeared in several literary journals, audio collections, and DIY poetry chapbooks. Musically, Lillvik is the founder of KalloHumina, an umbrella project for solo work and live improvised collaborations. Though born in Hawaii, he was raised in New Jersey and has remarkably forgiven his parents for this fate. He studied poetry with Bill Knott at Emerson College before moving to Portland in 1995 where he's worked in Public Libraries for over two decades.
Ryan Schulte is a community gardener with NYC Parks. His first novel, "I Dreamed I Saw Augustine," was published by Rebel Satori Press in 2026.
Nowhere Flower is the solo project of
artist & multi-instrumentalist Lila Jarzombek.
