“In Orbit” - An Album Listening Party.

Sound, movement, and discussion are combined to explore a seminal work by a revered artist.

Each session takes place in 4 parts:

Launch: An opening DJ set to prime the space

Orbit: Uninterrupted full playback of the album on vinyl

Atmosphere: A moderated discussion of the lyricism, production, cultural impact, and commercial success of the album with audience participation

Re-Entry: A closing DJ set and live performance that expands outward from the album, situating it within a broader musical landscape

First up will be will be Mariah Carey’s critically acclaimed 1997 album Butterfly. A pivotal moment in her personal and professional growth and widely considered to be her magnum opus.

This edition will feature DJ sets by Joopiter, Live Performances from Synead and Annie Moffitt, and Panel Moderators Joopiter, Synead, and Mak Charade!
