7pm til whenever
This is the 2nd in a series of monthly hangs for 20 & 30-something-year-olds
Bring your friends and come hang! We’ll have games, couches, snacks, live music - think smooth soul and R&B covers, followed by modern jazz by Boylston's very own Andrew Wilcox! Bring your own food and drink and bring extra to share if you want (no pressure tho). Come if you’re 20-something or 30-something but don’t worry, we’re not checking. If you have an instrument and want to bring it we might jam later on! And bring your favorite games too!
We’ll start around 7pm ~ music will start around 8:30pm ~ stay however long you want.
💸Cost: $10 (If you can’t afford it you can come for free - or pay whatever you want!)
🗓️Mark your calendars for future house shows: March 28, April 25
🎵About the Musicians:
Opening for our February house show is Maeve Evans accompanied by Xavier!
An impromptu performance at the last 19 Carter house show gave Maeve the courage to return to the stage tonight. She’s sharing a few songs she’s been wanting to sing for a very long time, blending her classical roots with jazz and soul ✨
Andrew Wilcox's Ecosystem (formerly the Andrew Wilcox Sextet) is a modern jazz group led by Hartford-based pianist Andrew Wilcox. Featuring band members from the east coast cities of Philadelphia, New York City, and Hartford, the band has a unique chemistry developed through the friendships they have together, their time in different cities across the east coast, and gigs together across multiple different groups.
Eco-System is the vessel for much of Andrew’s originals. These compositions are a reflection of the times we live in and the interconnected web that we are a part of. We are all part of a greater ecosystem that reflects the changing climate, mental health issues, loneliness, and danger felt by many in the modern world. But, also suggests a path forward through community, vulnerability, music, fellowship and understanding of one another. The Eco-System is continually pushing the envelope forwards, exploring new territory and welcoming all on board to be a part of the experience. Eco-System has performed for the Paul Brown Monday Night Jazz Series, Jazz Wednesdays at Black-Eyed Sally’s, the Walnut Hill Jazz Series at the New Britain Museum of American Art, and also at the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown, MA. From their humble beginnings at the Integrity n’ Music record store on the Silas Deane Highway to now, this is a band you will want to be paying attention to.
Elliot Bild on Trumpet, Danny Trainor on Alto Sax, Joshua Walker on Tenor Sax, Andrew Wilcox on Piano, Zwelakhe-Duma Bell le Pere on Bass, and Akin Hobson on Drums.
