Our next Art Clinic on April 2nd features a creative writing session led by @stella.ik ✨ Study, imagine, and sacrifice yourself to the feeling of revenge in this Audre Lorde-inspired writing workshop 🌀📝🌀
What happens when you shed the shame and slaughter of being a “victim” and instead become the (anti-)hero you need? Inspired by Audre Lorde’s “The Uses of Anger” and “Uses of the Erotic,” we will explore the uses of revenge as a motivator for liberation. In this workshop, we will work through exercises to translate our imageries of vengeance into writing: through narratives and poetry, ransom letters and manifestos. The creativity, vulnerability, and truth of your experiences are needed, if only for one evening. 🌹🥀🌹
No previous writing experience required. Ideal for ages 18+
We want to make space to navigate dark themes without feeding judgement or shame. Be responsible for your own well-being.
This workshop is BIPOC and queer-led and prioritizes the protection of BIPOC, queer, and trans people. Attending this workshop means taking care of yourself and your neighbors.
Revenge is sweet, so there will be cake. As always, we will provide some art materials to bring your writing to life!
