Cross the threshold into a somatic diptych, an invitation into your own embodied mythology.
Bone Archive, Skin Horizon is a two-part Butoh movement meditation series exploring the deep interior and the tender outer edges of the body. Each class weaves together intention setting, somatic warm-up, guided Butoh-fu improv, a structured Butoh exercise, and a closing integration circle.
Bone Archive
In this class, we descend into the inner architecture of the body: the bones as memory-vaults, lineage, structure, and shadow-keepers. Through slow, attentive movement, we explore compression, skeletal articulation, and the quiet resonances within. The Butoh-fu invites you into the underworld of the body, where bones whisper old stories and movement becomes excavation.
The second class, Skin Horizon, will take place the following week April 12th 4-6pm. While the embodied arc of the series builds from deep interior to outer surface, it is not necessary to attend both classes.. That said, attending both offers the full descent-and-emergence journey: from the dark archive within to the horizon where your surface meets the world.
