Led by award-winning filmmaker Zarrar Kahn (In Flames, 2023 — Cannes, TIFF, NYC Critics Pick), the workshop analyzes Zarrar's own shorts — Stray Dogs Come Out at Night (Clermont-Ferrand FF), 1978 (Locarno FF), and unreleased work — and unpacks how the short form leads to creative discovery, financing, and career opportunities. It lays out how emerging filmmakers can use shorts to support their long-form work, both creatively and as industry positioning. Kahn's debut feature In Flames premiered at Cannes and became Pakistan's official Academy Award submission, and his next feature - the climate thriller Suffering Is Optional - will star Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel), with production beginning in early 2027.
