What if all it took to change the world was coming together as a group of strangers? Everything that humanity has ever built has started with an idea that was dreamed up. Before a building is built, it is imagined. Before an ideology takes hold, it is imagined. Before a movement gathers momentum, a border dissolves, or a future is resisted or reclaimed - someone, somewhere, imagines. For far too long, our imaginations have been manipulated by the systems they threaten. There's a reason why revolutions start with artists and why artists are the first to get shut down by the system, because inspiring others to ask why, or to imagine different futures is powerful. And they know it. As African American Feminist, Educator, Activist & Writer, Bell Hooks, said, “What we cannot imagine cannot come into being.” We are bringing together a group of people who want to dream and build a better future for our city. If any of this resonates with you, know that you aren’t alone. There are others in your city who feel the same way. WHERE ARE THEY AT? Have you met them all? What could we accomplish if we dreamed together? We believe there is power in collective imagination. If you do too, come meet others who feel the same way and let’s see what unfolds. This event is free and open to the public and focused on building community and creating real change in our city. Join us in turning our attention not to what is, but to what could be.
