Strict Dress Code: All Black Attire (Think Black Excellence FLY) Recognizing the historical significance of celebrating Black love, Color Creative Consulting Agency, Culture Makers I.N.C, & SoLa Contemporary, is proud to present the transformative Black Love is Liberation Exhibition, a sincere homage to love within the Black community. The Black Love is Liberation exhibit, thoughtfully curated by Akiya McKnight, will breathe life into the history of Black love as a vibrant living art installation. The exhibition will showcase a spectrum of works that will center on four principles: love of oneself, love of the Black family, love of/within the Black community, & love for Black people. The exhibit hosted by The Black Excellence Society seeks to illuminate the resolute power of Black love, which has served as an anchor throughout history, even in the face of systemic adversities. The exhibition will feature a timeline of works that showcase Black Love from the early ages to the present day. The focus will be on historical information about Black Love throughout History, Commissioned Art, as well as old & new age video footage of prominent figures discussing love in all of it's revolutionary guises. Get ready to engage in an artist conversation delving into the significance of the artworks representing the essence of Black love.
