We're partnering with Sugary, Chinatown Social, and Dumpling Dude for a MASSIVE Lunar New Year potluck with a program of lion dancing, a dumpling making led by the one and only Dumpling Dude Lenny, and select vendors to enjoy!
Each contribution is designed around a core Horse-year quality—inviting guests to eat with intention and step into 2026 together for huge celebration of momentum, courage, and forward motion.
Lunar Hard Seltzer, Dirty Water, & Wild Mannered will all be providing complementary libations for the evening, including various food vendors such as Rose's Pineapple Shorts and Nine Treasures Creamery.
Thanks for Smith + Parka for helping us get this AWESOME venue, take a look here if you wanna get a feel for the vibe: https://www.untappedcities.com/content/images/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/essex-street-market-nyc-untapped-cities1-9.jpg

The themes of the potluck dishes are:
1. Movement & Flow
Liquids that symbolize momentum, adaptability, and life in motion
Anything that pours, simmers, or stirs—meant to warm, loosen, and carry us forward, with flavors that feel both transporting and unexpected.
Examples:
– Brothy soups & stews
– Exotic tonics
– Flowing cocktails & non-alcoholic elixirs
To move freely is to trust the path.
2. New Beginnings & Vitality
Eggs and greens as symbols of renewal, growth, and fresh energy
Dishes that speak to life restarting, strength returning, and the courage to begin again.
Examples:
– Tea eggs, omelets, egg-forward small plates
– Herbal, green vegetable-forward, or restorative dishes
Every beginning carries its own quiet power.
3. Opportunity & Success
Wrapped foods representing fortune, protection, and possibility
Encased, folded, or bundled—these dishes honor the idea of opportunity held and ready to unfold.
Examples:
– Dumplings, wontons, baos
– Wrapped or stuffed bites
Good fortune favors those prepared to receive it.
4. Power & Passion
Bold, spicy, expressive flavors
This category invites courage, intensity, and heat—fuel for ambition and emotional truth.
Examples:
– Spicy, pepper-forward, or deeply seasoned dishes
– Anything unapologetically bold
Passion propels the Horse forward.
5. Beauty
Desserts as offerings of joy, grace, and visual delight
Because beauty isn’t indulgence—it’s affirmation. These dishes are meant to be admired as much as enjoyed.
Examples:
– Sculptural desserts
– Colorful, elegant, or ornate sweets
Beauty reminds us why the journey matters.
Look forward to celebrating with all of you!
