Summer of Science, Service & Scholarship 2026

Join students from middle school through graduate school for Mentoring in Medicine's Summer of Science, Service & Scholarship Program, a unique four-week virtual experience focused on research, scientific communication, leadership, and community impact.
Participants will work in teams alongside researchers, graduate students, and healthcare professionals to transform real scientific research into presentations, videos, social media campaigns, educational materials, and public awareness initiatives that help communities better understand science and health.
The program is designed to be flexible. Each team will establish a schedule that works best for its members. Some teams may meet during the day, while others may meet in the evenings. Teams will conduct brief daily check-ins and participate in weekly mentor sessions with researchers and graduate students.
Participants will:
Work with real scientific research papers
Collaborate with students from around the country
Receive guidance from researchers and healthcare professionals
Earn community service hours
Receive a Letter of Participation
Build leadership, communication, and research skills
Strengthen college, graduate school, and medical school applications
