The fall is once again here, and that means its once again time for Oktoberfest brews, weird movies, and spooky vibes. Yes, its Schlocktoberfest time! But enter if you dare, Its Schlocktoberfest 2: HOUSE PARTY! Start your Halloween season early with 2 iconically bizarre Haunted House movies, the surreal Japanese feature House, and charmingly strange American film House 2: The Second Story. And if the ghosts, zombies, and mischievous creatures that dwell in these films don't scare you off, there'll be a free raffle after the screenings as well! This year’s lineup: House aka Hausu (Japan, 1977)- A high school girl and her six friends venture into the Japanese countryside to visit her widowed aunt. But once they arrive, the warmth of her inviting abode and loving demeanor slowly begin to wade away, revealing something more sinister and shocking. An iconic staple of midnight cinema and a true cult classic, House is a psychedelic horror trip widely recognized for its surreal set design, creative practical effects, and dreamlike narrative! *Movie will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles* House 2: The Second Story (USA, 1987)- On Halloween night, a man goes digging for an ancient treasure buried in the backyard of his newly inherited mansion. What he doesn't expect though, is to find the treasure attached to a 100 year old cowboy zombie! "Gramps", as he asks to be called, is happy to be back and ready to party. But he only has one request... keep the treasure safe. Sounds easy, right? Not when the interdimensional forces living in the house are conspiring to take the treasure for themselves! Completely unrelated to the Japanese film House, and only somewhat related to it's predecessor, the 1985 American film House, House 2: The Second Story takes the series in an anthological direction (new House, new story!), using the setting to craft a strange but charming tale of found family, friendship, and getting into a fight with a Muppet bird. Doors will open at 6, Movies will start at 6:30. Come in Watch your skull and mind the pets...
