Hey, our dear friend! We invite you to join the 10th edition of the International Samba Day Flashmob, organized by Natasha Lima and BSD Dance The challenge is to learn a short samba de gafieira choreography, perform it somewhere in DC, and record a video that will become part of a bigger video featuring samba no pé and samba de gafieira teams from all over the world! All videos will be released on Samba Day, December 2nd. Can you join if you have no previous gafieira experience? Definitely yes! We will learn all the steps, with an emphasis on social dancing, and combine them into the choreography. The schedule is pretty packed, but definitely doable: Week 1 (Sep 7–13): learning Balanço, Gancho, Puladinho, Espelho Week 2 (Sep 14–20): learning Cruzado, Romario, Quebrada Week 3 (Sep 21–27): learning Caminhada em tempo, Picadilho Week 4 (Oct 5–11): learning Elástico, Chapéu Week 5 (Oct 12–18): final rehearsal Week 6 (Oct 19–25): recording the video Participation is FREE!
