In our first two meetings, we have explored self organizing the creation of co operative housing through the group purchase of multi units and increasing density of existing properties. Some topics we will be covering in this meeting: *Filling out working groups - implementing the vision *exploring co-living and ownership models *traditional and alternative real estate financing *renting vs buying - Can I Fire My Landlord? *Property Case Studies About your facilitators: Phil - In addition to being a lead organizer with EBPG, Phil has been a Bay area real estate agent for the last 4 years. He hopes to bring industry insight to this conversation and access to information that is not accessible to non Real Estate Professionals. Pete - Pete has facilitated a number of Bay area co-housing interest groups over the last few years and is excited to explore this conversation from a permaculture perspective. ✨ What to expect: ★ Community announcements — needs, offers, events, and invitations ★ Project networking — connect with others doing permaculture work across the East Bay ★ Self-organized conversations — practical, political, visionary, grounded ★ Relationship-building — neighbors, organizers, gardeners, and changemakers All experience levels welcome. This is a grassroots, justice-oriented space centering racial equity, land back, and collective resilience. Kiddo friendly! 📍 Oakland Peace Center – Grace Room, located downstairs (The building can be a maze; someone will be helping direct folks from 5:45-6:15p) 🌿 Garden partnership: We're partnering with the Oakland Peace Center to support their medicinal/edible garden restoration – we will share more details at the meeting! ✨ Helping out: We're looking for volunteers for setup/cleanup, door greeting, photo documentation – sign up via spreadsheet below 💚 Free, with donations welcome to support our projects RSVP so we can plan for food (link above!)
