Hi y'all! My name is Hilary (she/her), and I'll be your next Queer Hike host! Join me and Queer Hike Club to explore this wetlands. 🌈 This is a 21+ queer community event centered around trans, nonbinary, & sapphic folks designed to help build connection with each other and the outdoors. 🏳️‍⚧️ We'll be exploring Hog Hammock Trail, a 4-mile round trip, including a 1-mile loop, 2-mile loop, and 1-mile spur (Promontory Trail). Entrance is at the WATERSHED MANAGEMENT ENTRANCE on Northlake Blvd. Duration: 1 - 1.5 hrs for non-chatters, probably 2hrs for us 📍Meeting Point: At the head of the paved trail beginning in the parking lot. Look for the gays. Departure at 2:10pm. Check in with the Host. Cost: Free. Donations welcome (to help pay for future hikes and keep the outdoors accessible to all). Restrooms and water fountains in parking area. There will be an Everglades Educational program happening in the Nature center from 1pm - 4pm however this is located at the main entrance (up the road). You will want to attend this prior to our hike as it should take us 1.5- 2 hours to complete the hike. 🫶As always, be respectful of others in words and actions.
