In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, you're invited to our community journaling and potluck picnic in Central Park! 🧺📝🌳
Together, we’ll explore the beautiful intersection of culture and self-care, share delicious food, and create new friendships in a laid-back atmosphere with other Latinas in the New York area.
📝 Activity 1: Journaling Workshop
We'll kick off with a guided journaling session led by Katherine Vargas, known as BodegaKat, focused on celebrating our unique Latine identities and backgrounds.Through thoughtful prompts, you'll have the opportunity to explore your unique journey and connect with others in meaningful conversation.
🍽️ Activity 2: Picnic Potluck
After journaling, we'll gather for a cozy picnic. Please bring a dish that’s close to your heart—whether it’s a recipe passed down through generations or a favorite comfort food. Sharing a meal with cultural significance will allow us to celebrate our diversity and bond over stories of food and tradition.
What to Bring: A blanket, journal, pen, any art supplies you'd like to share (like crayons, markers, stickers), an object that culturally represents you and a dish to share. Cultural dishes are especially encouraged!
Come ready to reflect, share, and enjoy a beautiful afternoon with a community that values both self-care and cultural heritage.
We can't wait to see you there! 🌸
