Merlantis is coming to Base Camp studios! Get ready to immerse yourself in 4000 sqft of weird art and experiences paying homage to everything MERculture. We want to give you mermaids, a giant kinky crab trap to capture your sweetheart, a stroll through a glowing kelp forest… but we need your help to build this exhibit! Come party with us as we create the first wave of joyful nonsense
On Saturday, December 27th, you have the opportunity to help us fund and resource this vision
🕺 Dance the night astray in our empty gallery space serenaded by some of Seattle hottest DJs
🐟 Make fish bones at the craft station to throw in our chum bucket!
👩🎨 Add to the Trash-Chihuli ceiling, Trashuli for short.
🍻 Whet your whistle with snacks and drinks
But that’s not all - we are buoyant with excitement to announce a fintastic lineup of burlesque and variety acts featuring the artistry of Skipper, Lilac, Traviesa and more! You can expect grimy, salty, seasonal and raunchy behavior. We love to show off our flippers and gills, and you love to see it! Don’t stand too close to the splash zone–you might get salt spray, or a tentacle if you’re lucky.
We don’t just need your sand dollars, we also have a wish list of supplies from your home junk pile
- PLASTICS. Bring your CLEAN plastic waste: bottles, shiny plastics, strong plastics, plastics you put things in, berry clam shells, egg cartons, forks.
- Pretty ocean’y items: shells, shiny fabrics, half used cans of colorful paint, etc.
Meet a mermaid! Wear a salmon hat! Get your head stuck in 6-pack can rings! Contemplate life on land?
This is a NOTAFLOF (no one turned away for lack of funds) party!
