^◡^On June 30, six NYPD officers swarmed a peaceful Disrupt press conference in Washington Square Park, shutting it down the exact moment our founder, Carlos Calzadilla-Palacio, began reading names from the unsealed Epstein files. His speaker was confiscated, no receipt was given, and he was slapped with a criminal court appearance ticket—even while others in the park openly used amplified sound.
This isn't about a noise complaint. This is targeted, viewpoint-based censorship, and we aren't backing down.
Carlos is heading to court to fight this ticket, and we are preparing a major First Amendment lawsuit to ensure our voices cannot be silenced by selective enforcement. We need our community by our side to show that New Yorkers will always stand up for free speech and accountability.
