The same AI revolution that puts a Fortune 500 company's capabilities in your pocket is also being used by authoritarian regimes to build pre-crime models, deploy real-time facial recognition, surveil ethnic minorities, and extract data from the phones of dissidents. The question is not whether AI will shape the future of freedom — it's who will shape AI.
Vibe Coding for Freedom is a full-day hackathon designed to answer that question practically, and put tools directly in the hands of the people who need them most.
What you'll walk away with:
You'll leave this day knowing how to use vibe coding tools to build the digital assets your organization actually needs — and understanding how AI can be both the threat and the solution when it comes to human freedom.
The agenda covers two tracks:
AI as a tool of repression — how regimes are using pre-crime modeling, facial recognition, ethnic minority tracking, and phone surveillance to build stronger police states, and what freedom advocates need to know.
AI as a tool of liberation — how open-source, privacy-protecting agents, organizational scaling tools, activist-focused super-prompts, and freedom tech infrastructure (including Bitcoin and nostr) can give nonprofits and individuals inside dictatorships access to the world's best intelligence — safely and securely.
This event is hands-on. You will try vibe coding yourself. No technical background required — that's the point.
Who should attend:
Anyone working at the intersection of technology and human freedom who wants to understand and use what's available right now.
Space is limited. Attendance is free but requires approval.
