if you like John Wick, action films, class commentary, and/or Dev Patel, you'll love this one. (a completely different vibe from my last year's aapi month pick, Joy Luck Club) 

Monkey Man is an action-revenge flick set in Mumbai blocked indefinitely from releasing in India, losing out on a major market for the film. It had to be edited down from it's original cut due to concerns over its political allusions, Netflix dropped out from picking it up, and Jordan Peele believed in Patel's directorial debut so much, he stuck out a Monkeypaw to get this film in theaters.
