The Fo Guang Shan Xiang Yun Temple is hosting a viewing of Easy Digging!
"EASY DIGGING is a feature-length mockumentary written and directed by Marissa Macy. It was filmed entirely in Austin, TX on a micro-budget of $3,000, using equipment and resources from Austin Public’s Producer Program. The cast is comprised of incredibly talented performers from the Austin Improv Community, and the dialogue is entirely improvised. The original idea came from the film’s lead, Phillip Andrew Johnson, after a video game jam where he created “A Dig’s Purpose” – from there, the silly idea of a man actually digging to China transformed into a story about family estrangement, grief, and community."
You might be asking... why would a Buddhist temple host a viewing of our film? Well, star and producer, Phillip Johnson has been a member for a few years. This film also features cameos from a few members of the Xiang Yun Temple community so keep an eye out for them too!
