What better place to celebrate a newspaper than a newsstand? slips slips is a free NYC-based art-and-literary broadsheet featuring short-form stories, comics, essays, articles, illustrations, games, and more - a range of content as varied as the city itself. On Friday, June 26, slips slips will be hosting a rush-hour takeover of the of the Data Vandals Newsstand, with dozens of readings from the first two issues of the publication and beyond. Free issues will be available to passersby, so come by to collect your copy - and stick around to listen to some great writing with the bustle of Manhattan as a backdrop. Readers will include: - Lynne Burns - Hope Cartelli - Amanda LaPergola - Kristen Leigh - Jeff Lewonczyk - Trav S.D. - Brian Silliman - Data Vandals ....and many more! Be a part of this unique happening, and help give some New Yorkers a subway commute to remember! About the Data Vandals Newsstand: As part of the MTA’s Vacant Unit Activation Program, the Data Vandals host a data-art kiosk and conversation space directly on the downtown 6-train platform at 51st & Lexington. You will need to be on the subway to enter the newsstand. Our space is small, but gets 58,000 person foot traffic a day, so you may have to wait to get in.
