💃 🤯 NYC'S HOTTEST TECH/NO PARTY 🤯🕺 STUDY HALL PRESENTS: SHOW AND TELL! FEATURING GIDGETS, GADGETS, GIZMOS, AND MORE BY ANDREW BOYLAN AND JESSICA GARSON. INCLUDING… - a virtual free library, tethered to a sculpture - a screaming drum machine - a resonator playing livestreams underwater 🫧 - live-coded visuals - a “sandwich alignment graph” - and whatever else they cook up before Monday❗️ A PRESS RELEASE FROM THE HOSTS: "We've been vibing, coding, sketching, breaking things, fixing things, and breaking them again. For two months, STUDY HALL has been where strangers become collaborators and laptops become instruments. Now it's time to open the notebooks. Show us the half-finished thing that keeps you up at night. The demo that almost works. The idea you can't stop talking about. The thing that makes you tick." TWO MONTHS OF NOODLING IN PUBLIC. ONE NIGHT TO SHOW WHAT YOU'VE GOT. WORKS IN PROGRESS WELCOME. ROUGH EDGES ENCOURAGED. COME READY TO TINKER, TRY, START, OR SHARE! RUN OF SHOW: 6pm: Arrive, say hi, grab a beer 6:30pm: Show and tell by Andrew Boylan and Jessica Garson 7pm: Building breakout (mingle + collab!) 8pm: YOUR show and tell, popcorn style 8:30pm: Afterparty with drinks and a Detroit techno DJ set FEEL FREE TO BRING YOUR OWN GIDGET, GADGET, GIZMO, HALF-BAKED IDEA—OR JUST YOUR CURIOSITY. NO TECH EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! CAN'T COME? MARK "CAN'T GO" TO GET ON THE LIST FOR VOL. 6. TELL FRIENDS WITH WEIRD + COOL IDEAS❗️🧠 ~~~~~~ FEATURED GUESTS: Andrew Boylan is an artist-musician building spaces for play on the internet, in public, and elsewhere. He peddles bioinformation at Harvard and Mass General by day, and freelances as a web dev by night. He wants you to join his new band where everyone will play websites as instruments. Ask him about critical theories on Ratatouille. Jessica Garson / Messica Arson is a dev relations baddie (ex-Twitter, Elastic) and Brooklyn's most dangerous noise artist. Since 2017 she's been live-coding chaos, such as looped screams with modular synthesizers and Python. She co-runs RAID, NYC's premiere research, AI, and design series. Ask her about her cat Poot. HOSTS: Charlie Freiberg is a soothsayer-saleswoman in NYC. Her "storytelling" (ex-Cultural Counsel) makes people love and pay you. She can guess your childhood trauma in < 10 minutes. Zak Hap is an engineer and serial startup boy (Liminal Media, Odefi, Commonwealth Labs) based in NYC. Ask him about sacred Japanese music.
