I Wish I Could: Unveiling the Mask of the Strong Black Woman is a transformative workshop designed to create brave, affirming space for Black, Indigenous, and other Women of Color to examine — and redefine — what strength truly means.
For generations, the “Strong Black Woman” narrative has been both armor and burden. While it celebrates resilience and perseverance, it often pressures us to suppress vulnerability, ignore exhaustion, and carry emotional labor alone. This workshop invites participants to gently remove the mask and explore the real cost of always being “strong.”
It is aimed at empowering Black, Indigenous, & other Women of Color to redefine strength by critically examining how the belief of the strong Black woman affects our mental wellbeing.
The workshop will offer practical tools for the participants to practice self-nurturing and self-care.
