Join Hoboken Silent Book Club for our signature TITLES & TREASURES meetup at Symposia Community Bookstore. Our gathering is geared towards readers, but open to all (e.g., knitters, doodlers, jewelry-makers, writers, etc) who like our vibe for quiet, independent focus and optional socializing.
⭐️ NEW: This meetup will have both INDOOR & OUTDOOR seating. East LA has graciously allowed us to use their parklet, which contains 5 picnic tables. Seating is first come, first served.
(*Note: East LA is closed on Mondays, but you are welcome to BYO drinks / food if you like. If ordering takeout, it’s recommended that you place your order by no later than 6:15 PM to ensure it arrives before our Silent Focus period begins at 7:00 PM.)
📚 During this meetup, I will be nominating one lucky attendee to take home & read SBC Reads May Book of the Month: LIAR'S DICE by Juliet Faithfull. Set in 1970's Brazil, this coming-of-age story is about twin sisters, Mita and Dolores, who are separated when one of them is diagnosed with a mysterious illness. This is a book about sisterhood, the secrets we keep, and hope. Jenna Bush Hager (founder of Thousand Voices Books and also a famous twin) calls it a "once in a lifetime book."
