Through his coverage, Lerner shares insights, trends, and analysis related to legal tech innovations. In addition to his writing, Lerner has participated in several panels and webinars about legal tech. Dori Yona Dori started SimpleClosure after facing a tough moment in his own business when he needed help closing down a company but couldn't find good advice anywhere. After running an app called Earny that millions of people used, he knew there had to be a better way to help business owners close their companies. His new company, SimpleClosure, now helps hundreds of other business owners shut down their companies faster and cheaper than traditional methods. Based in Santa Monica with his family, Dori works to show that closing a business doesn't have to be scary or hard, and that learning from tough experiences can lead to helping others. Jesse Carey Jesse Carey leads growth for Stripe Atlas, Stripe’s startup incorporation platform. He previously served as Business Operations Lead at Headway, a mental health startup, where he launched the company’s government business. Prior, he was a Strategy & Planning Manager at Uber Eats and a management consultant focused on payments. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School after attending Sydney Law School, having moved to the US from Australia in 2017. Sam Garcia Sam Garcia is a Partner with the Amplo platform of Collective Global. Sam focuses on the Seed/Series A practice at Amplo and serves on the boards of Lightyear, Flume, Kredi, Tradespace, Wizehire, Steno, Axion Ray, Doxel, and previously served on the board of Legalpad until they were acquired by Deel. Sam is a Lecturer at Harvard Law School where he teaches a course called Applying Legal Skills to VC Business Diligence. He also sits on the board of LatinxVC and serves as the organization’s Vice President. Sam is a graduate of the Business Honors Program at the University of Texas at Austin and holds a JD from Harvard Law School. Jeff Laretto Jeff Laretto represents high-growth technology companies, predominately those located in and around New York City and Silicon Valley, at all stages of development. He frequently advises on incorporation and organizational matters, angel, seed and venture capital investments, general corporate strategy, venture debt transactions, strategic investments, complex commercial transactions, acquisitions, employment matters, mergers and other sale transactions. He also counsels venture capital funds, private equity funds and strategic investors in connection with investments, acquisitions and divestitures.
