Since the day Mary found Kanami dancing in Washington Square Park in February 2024, they have been working in collaboration a lot. Mary has been inviting Kanami to her art studio and drawing her in different poses, and Kanami has been organizing private performance shows in Mary’s apartment.
This event will be Kanami’s 3rd time to organize her performance event in Mary’s apartment, and she is very excited to present her new performance work, “Through Somatic Sounds,” which was created in collaboration with the composer/creative coder, Brian Ellis.
Brian will set up a motion-capture technology system which will capture Kanami’s movements during the performance and translate them into sounds in live…!
In addition to the performance, the acclaimed artist Mary Frank, who is hosting this event, will display her artworks in her studio, including recent drawings of Kanami.
(Kanami has been an art model for Mary since March 2024).
This will be something truly special…!
