Yoga & Kirtan in the Park

My dear friend Anthony is in town from San Francisco, and we're in luck because he is an incredible yoga teacher with lots of wisdom to share. Join us for a casual morning of yoga and kirtan followed by a community picnic, in a beautiful secret shady spot on the upper west side of Central Park. This gathering is BYO yoga mat, picnic and instruments. I'll bring a harmonium, which anyone is welcome to play. We'll start the kirtan with some classic Sanskrit mantras then open it up into a song circle, where you're invited to share healing or uplifting songs from any tradition. All are welcome! No prior experience with kirtan or devotional chanting/singing required. FLOW OF THE GATHERING -11:00am - 12:15pm: Yoga Class with Anthony -12:15 - 1:15pm: Kirtan & Community Song Circle -1:15pm - 2pm: Community Picnic COME PREPARED: Please bring everything you need to be comfortable outdoors: -Yoga mat or blanket for practice and to sit on -Instruments, shakers and songs for the kirtan -Water bottle -Sunscreen and/or hat -Bug spray -Healthy snacks to share for the picnic If you're not able to bring food for the picnic, no problem. HOW TO FIND US: -Subway to 103rd St (B,C, 1 lines) or 96th St (2,3 lines) -Go up the stairs on 106th St. to enter Central Park -Go across the 'Great Hill' open area, you will see restrooms on your left hand side. -Walk across the lawn and on the other side you'll find a narrow path, walk for about 15 seconds and right on your left you will find a very narrow path -You will find us in a secluded, shaded meadow surrounded by trees.
