The Itty Bitty Mosquito Population Committee is excited to host DC Health’s small but team that performs mosquito surveillance and control across the district! We’ll meet up on the patio of Mott’s Market, where the DC Health team will first share an overview of their mosquito control efforts, demonstrate some of the traps and surveillance techniques they perform and answer questions. We’ll then walk a few of the surrounding blocks with them to point out areas of concern (e.g., problematic catch basins, vaults, vacant properties, etc.) and have a conversation about how we can realistically ensure these mosquito breeding grounds are handled. Note that we’re aiming to keep this gathering on the smaller side to foster a better discussion. Hope you can make it! Also, this event will be outdoors.
