Black Forest is partnering with Bronx is Blooming and One Love Community Fridge to host our 2nd community event to plant over 40 trees for Black lives in the South Bronx and channel some of the Juneteenth and solstice energies ❤️🖤🌳🌞 After serving you snacks and drinks we’ll guide you through a series of activities ranging from visualizing the trees growth and expressing gratitude for their gifts to saying the names of Black ancestors and dedicating the trees to them. RSVP for event location and name submission. You don’t need to attend to submit a name. People of all ages and abilities as well as families are invited to attend and participate. Black Forest was founded by artist and researcher Ekene Ijeoma at his former MIT lab Poetic Justice Group. Starting in November 2022, he partnered with local governments, organizations, and communities to plant over 500 trees of many species and sizes in parks, lawns, and sidewalks across 8 states. Please help us grow to over 40,000 trees across all 50 states by participating, sharing and donating at black-forest.us.
