It’s August. It’s humid. Your hair will frizz. Your ice cream will melt in approximately 14 seconds. Which means it is officially perfect weather for an ice cream crawl.
We’ll be meeting at 6 PM near U Street/14th Street (easy Metro access for the commuters among us) and slowly making our way north through DC consuming irresponsible amounts of frozen dairy and gossip. Starting at golden hour means we get cute daylight pics at the beginning, sunset during the walk, and cooler summer-night wandering vibes by the end.
🍦 Stops include (with some flavor highlights):
* Pitango Gelato 14th Street: pistachio gelato, dark chocolate, affogatos
* Malai: cardamom coffee, masala chai, mango cream
* Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams 14th Street: brambleberry crisp, gooey butter cake, brown butter almond brittle
* Mount Desert Island Ice Cream: black sesame, thai iced tea, kulfi
* Joia Burger: ube soft serve + burgers for anyone who realizes halfway through that dinner was a necessary life choice
This is less of a “crawl” and more of a beautiful test of endurance. I encourage sharing at every stop so you can sample multiple flavors. Come for one stop or commit to the full frozen pilgrimage. Wear comfy shoes, prepare for sticky hands, and hydrate accordingly.
