Rooted in contemporary figurative abstraction, Vis-à-Vis examines the act of looking as both formal and relational. Through large-scale paintings of Black male subjects, the work navigates visibility and presence, inviting close attention—foregrounding form, perception, and authorship over fixed narratives.
