Para(site)dise Exhibit Opening w/Live Storytelling

Hosted by

Jocelyn Mathewes' solo exhibit and large-scale cyanotype installation, Para(site)dise, make visible the invisible labor of managing a body. This and her other works explore the interior landscape of chronic illness: its repetitions, its consuming labor, its strange beauty. Medical detritus — prescription sheets, IV tubing, hospital bracelets — and domestic materials like recipe cards and road maps are turned into objects of grief, reverence, and dark wit. Join us in the Contemporary Regional gallery at the William King Museum of Art for the show's opening, which will feature a performance by award-winning storyteller Hannah Harvey, made possible by partnership with the International Storytelling Center.
