The World We Want — A Fools Flotilla Pre-Party & Art Build
Whimsical river fairies, climate dreamers, jugglers, aerialists, artists, weirdos, neighbors, and kids of all ages: come make something beautiful.
Imagine the world we want to live in— then draw it, craft it, paint it on a banner. This is a creative gathering before we take it to the river: an afternoon of making, meeting, and dreaming out loud.
We'll be co-painting a collective "The World We Want" banner headed to the Yahara River for Fools Flotilla and the Marquette Waterfront Festival — plus making signs you can put in your yard or on your boat.
No art experience needed. No sea legs? No problem. We need your creative energy on land too.
Meet new friends and neighbors, join a crew, or recruit extra paddlers. Ask questions of experienced river fools, start planning your float, and leave with art in your hands and maybe someone new in your boat.
This is part of ‘The World We Want’ — a season-long creative campaign rooted in optimism and joyful public spectacle in cooperation with 350 Wisconsin Art Collectiive.
This is the spark. The flotilla is June 14.
