Eeeeeeep it’s finally here! My record release show with the songs I’ve been working on all of 2025! The jazzy superstars YELLOW VELVET and the DC cult sensations sitcom-core ELECTRIC GRANDMOTHER are to my absolute honor sharing the stage with me!!! Come for the music, furbies, cosmic disco egg, blind contour line drawings (IYKYK) or just to see your lovely DC peeps. ~BIOs~ Adele Marie (she/her) is a classically-trained vocalist and solo experimental folk artist based around DC. She performs introspective multi-instrumental looping sets & intimate acoustic songs. Expect layers of prepared guitar noise and free-associative lyrics within nostalgic melodies and punchy dynamic shifts (plus a cosmic disco egg and rainbow furby, cause why not?!) . After the show, embrace your surreal alter ego with an original blind contour line drawing by Adele Marie herself. Yellow Velvet is a group of friends with a blended background of jazz, classical, and choral training who have been making music in the DMV for over three years. They play indie jazz with intricate time signatures, lush harmonies, and charming doo-wop sensibilities. Brookelove Hanlon brings a lifetime of expertise on the bass, Chris BD is just as comfortable playing a jazz club as he is in a Chopin competition, and vocalists Pigeon Valentine and Connor Laughland have perfected the dual arts of harmonizing together and tastefully coordinating outfits. Washington DC cult sensations The Electric Grandmother, the inventors of “Sitcom-Core,” are an apocalyptic pop duo who bring you comedic musical chaos wrapped in the shiny package of nostalgia, filtered through the lens of America's sweethearts of the underground."
