This sacred celebration of Seb-i-Arus marks the anniversary of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi's passing, and is celebrated as a sacred reunion with the Beloved by seekers all around the world. Through the whirling sema, music, and prayer, we honor Rumi’s legacy of love, unity, and the journey of the soul toward divine truth. This 24-hour event at the Akera Retreat Center in the Catskills will be filled with live devotional music, uninterrupted whirling ceremony, poetry, and prayer, all in honor of Rumi's legacy of love and unity. Expect to be part of a transformational ceremony where music, movement and prayer all intertwine into a harmonious tapestry, all in a beautiful retreat space featuring a geodesic dome and 123 acres of forest.
