Woodblock Workshop: The Power of Names

UPDATE: SEATS FILLED Join us for a special woodblock printing workshop at @fapa_ny.m’s first art exhibition, Between Shores: Reimagining Formosa. In this workshop, we’ll first unpack the power and purpose of names in the context of diasporic and marginalized identities, and then we’ll carve our own name tags inspired by Taiwan’s 姓名貼紙. The final pieces will be collectively printed on fabric as an archive of our workshop. 📅: Saturday, June 14 ⏰: 1-5pm 📍: One Art Space 🎟️: $25 (materials included + bring home your wood block and a paper print) This workshop is capped at 15 people, so sign up via the link in our bio and Venmo @Becca-Chen (with caption "First Name Last Name - FAPA workshop") to secure your seat! Once we receive your Venmo, we’ll approve your Partiful RSVP. Any payments received after the 15-person limit will be returned. We can’t wait to carve with you :-) About Printpals: Print Pals is an NYC-based AAPI art collective that uses woodblock printing as a medium to foster critical yet accessible conversations about identity, politics, and more. Inspired by the activist woodcarving collectives across East and Southeast Asia, Print Pals strives to build intentional community through meaningful cross-border collaborations.
