In 1898 when New York City was consolidated, it immediately became the second-largest city behind London (which it would go on to surpass in short order). The following 30 years saw the construction of almost all of our current subway system, much of our current housing stock, and most of the landmarks you recognize as emblems of the erstwhile Empire City. These first decades of New York City were special, and we stand at the threshold of their twin, if only we will allow it. Come and embrace the city of the future. 1. This party is invite-only, but feel free to bring a trusted +1 who will fit with the vibe. 2. Want to help buy Thai food? Venmo $7 to @Priya-Ghose
