Second Stop Open Mic is a faith-based open mic experience hosted by Houston poet and singer-songwriter @her.art.of.worship — Hannah Rennai.
Join us for an inspiring, powerful night of Spoken Word poetry, music, and art, and fun story telling as Hannah hosts this in honor of turning 27!
All spiritual backgrounds are welcome, and all mediums of art: ppt presentations, comedy, food, storytelling, dance, music…just keep it to one piece and keep it under 7 minutes. Keep it PG, as this is a family-friendly event!
Second stop’s name is based on 2nd (2nd sat of each month —hopefully launching soon) and the Christian tradition of “sabbath” rest, God’s command to rest in his provision on the 7th of the week, every 7th year (jubilee).
Sabbath literally translates to “stop”. It is a discipline of grace. 🍃
This is the first public one in Houston!!
Piano provided, sound system available for karaoke and poetry mics. Venue is selling boba and viet food (main and apps) but also open to u byo food and drink (no smoking though). —keep your behavior kid friendly in case families attend. Be aware of the room.
(Please donate however much you feel led to! $15+ recommended. Anything Helps! Money will go towards paying the featured artists, and extra will go towards my seminary books and housing!
