Join us for a scenic and challenging adventure at Detweiler Park! This hike will combine several trails into one continuous loop: starting on Stackpole Loop, connecting to David’s Field Loop, continuing onto Meads Mountain Loop, then looping back via David’s Field and finishing where we began on Stackpole. The result is one 3.2ish mile, rewarding route with a mix of terrain and elevation.
Please note that Meads Mountain Loop is rated “most difficult,” so come prepared with sturdy hiking shoes, plenty of water, snacks, and any other gear you’ll need for a more strenuous outing.
For those who want a lighter option, there will be a point along David’s Field Loop (which has an "easy" rating) where you can choose to head back early, allowing you to enjoy part of the hike while skipping the most challenging section.
For those looking to extend the hike, you’re welcome to add the Airstrip Loop on the return from Mead’s Mountain Trail. This optional segment would add an additional 1.4 miles on an easy trail to the hike.
Whether you wish to stay with the pack, create a longer journey on Airstrip Loop, or opt to cut off Mead's Mountain for the shorter route, expect great views, good company, and a satisfying day on the trails.
