ROOM NOTES/FURNITURE/SUPPLIES This top floor room has a skylight. Normally for Thursday and Sunday Open Studios, the model stand is placed in the middle of the room. However, we plan to arrange a half circle of artists around the model stand against one wall.
There are stools, and horses and easels. There may also be some boards. We try not to use tables so as to fit as many artists in the room as want to participate. Please DO bring your own paper + pens/pencils/paints (though no gamsol or stinky stuff, please!) Digital art is fine too...just make sure you cover any cameras with tape out of respect to the nude model.

If you sign up for this event but do not pay, you will be moved from "Attending" to "Maybe" status. If you do not pay prior to session, you will be turned away.

* 11am-2pm Model Training

* 2pm-3pm Model lunch hour
(Artists may start arriving @ 2:30pm)
* 3pm-6pm Models practice poses for Artists
(Artists are privately invited to meet and create art from the newly-trained models. Artists may connect with new models to join their own model rosters.)

About the model trainer/host, ShawnaArtModel:
Shawna has been a full-time model for 11 years. "Full time" in art modeling can mean 3-10 hours a day, 6-7 days a week. Having achieved 10,000 pose hours in 2020 alone, she is on the roster of ~20 schools in the Puget Sound region and ~20 community series in the area. Shawna also collaborates with individual artists, working in their homes or studios. Additionally, Shawna coordinates and hosts community "open sessions" and hires models for both her own self-hosted series and for other community series. As of Summer 2022, Shawna began coordinating models for Gage Academy of Art.
