If your work involves research, at some point, research was fun. You got to learn stuff! Learning stuff is great!
All too quickly, the pressure of doing research in the real world sets in and the joy goes away.
I've spent the last decade living two lives: by day a researcher, by night a comedy improvisor and embodied meditator. This workshop is my attempt to share the lessons I've learned along the way about keeping yourself grounded and creative in the midst of research life. What I've found is that structuring the research process for play helps lead to better outcomes, and gets stuff done without costing all your energy.
This workshop will be a mix of body-based exercises to help you unlock your creativity and theory about how to approach the research process.
Doors open at 6pm, we'll start promptly at 6:15. There will be a bit of time at the end to chat and go into any questions.
I'm accepting donations via Venmo if you want to support this work! Or mainly help cover the cost of the room.
