March book club!

Hi! Join our 0 prep book club, all you need to bring is yourself! MOHOPS book club will be centering short stories by Jewish authors beginning with going through Ayelet Tsbari's collection "The Best Place on Earth." We will be meeting at Ninth Street Espresso and time will be allotted to read the short story prior to discussing!

The Best Place on Earth is an award-winning debut short story collection by Ayelet Tsabari, published in 2016, that explores the lives of marginalized Mizrahi Jews in Israel and the diaspora, covering themes of identity, displacement, love, and family through stories set against historical events like the Gulf War and the Second Intifada. The book is praised for its compassionate and intimate portrayal of characters navigating complex connections between cultures, generations, and their homeland, blending universal human experiences with specific Israeli and Mizrahi cultural details.
