Fell in love with a cowboy? Wanna swing dance with a cowgirl? Hell, just can’t reign your feelings in? Cowboy Poetry L.A. has you covered with a free show this upcoming Thursday, July 17th in partnership with our favorite local watering hole @eastwood 🙌🏼 Come let out a few yeehaw’s and how do ya do’s to some fine folks who have a passion for the spirit of the West. Cowboy Poetry Night starts at 8:00pm with opening remarks. We will then conduct a quick Q&A workshop and introduction on How To Write Cowboy Poetry alongside our first performance by our Cowboy Poets at 8:30. With a host of vintage 1940s-50s typewriters, we encourage guests to type their own cowboy poetry and invite them at 8:30 and 9:00 to recite their poems via the open mic portion of our event. By 10:00pm, Zane York and the Cowboy Poet will take the stage with a full 20-25min set of Cowboy Poetry. Zane York will play a set of folk and americana songs before Nevi headlines the stage by 11:00pm playing a set of acoustic folk songs before our grand finale. Cowboy Poetry Night is FREE and we encourage you to invite your friends and consider donating to our poets and musicians who are working this event for free. Who knows, maybe someone will lasso you right off your high horse and into their swing dancing arms! Event goers also enjoy a Free Poetry Workshop where guests are encouraged to type their own poems on vintage typewriters. Heck after a shot or two, we’ll be plum tickled if you share them during our open mic slot. Throughout the night we’ll have cowboy poetry performances by our poets in residence — Amir Beardsley and Manny Mendez — followed by musical performances by Zane York and Nevi.
