Join curator Atiya Dorsey for a tour of Studio Gallery DC’s January 2024 Outreach Exhibition, titled “Diasporic Connections,” on Saturday, January 27th from 1-3PM. The tour will be followed by a curator’s talk and group discussion of the featured artworks. “Diasporic Connections is a group show that explores the District’s various diaspora communities. Often, these communities are rendered silent when archiving DC’s history. Despite this, diaspora communities have helped mold the city into what it is today, pushing us to take note of the archival voids that are left unfilled to this day. To honor these communities and their own stories, participating artists offer social commentary on migration through various mediums.
