Explore benthic depths with Noah Phoenix and their multi-talented friends in an evening of sea-soaked poetry and music on Wednesday, April 15th at 7pm. $20 suggested donation.
About the performers:
Noah Phoenix (they/she) is a poet, dancer, visual artist, musician, psychopomp, and suspected amphibian who gets out of their mossy nest in the morning for bug facts, romantic (and necromantic) languages, kafkaesque fables, heirloom apples, and a damn fine™ cup of coffee. They released their debut chapbook of poetry UNEARTHING in 2024 to screeching reviews from local cicada populations. Their forthcoming chapbook INTERTIDAL ZONE centers limerence and fish and will be available for the first time the night of this show, April 15th. https://instagram.com/thoughtsfrompurgatory
Daniel Raine [t]he[y] is a multi-instrumentalist on the plectrum spectrum who resides at the collision of worlds between acoustic folk and electric ambience. He has toured up and down the East Coast with bands Chimney Swift, Paper Plane, & Thistlebird, from dance halls and folk camps to arts festivals and nerd conventions. A player of contra-dances and videogame soundtracks, Raine's music is not merely for listening – it's world-building. Instagram.com/raine.maker
Cate Clifford (she/her) is a typically unaccompanied singer based in Rhode Island. With powerful vocals, sensitive harmonies, and engaging context gleaned from intensive study, Cate creates a vivid and accessible pathway to the songs she offers, the people and stories behind them, and the profound, timeless delight of sharing both. A proud member of AFM Local 1000, the Traveling Musicians Union, she has raised rafters and cracked hearts in homes, venues, festivals and recording studios on both coasts of the USA. She maintains that no set is immune to a dash of Sondheim or a sprinkle of Shakespeare. https://www.instagram.com/catecliffordmusic/
Starlight Smith (they/them) is a Rhode Island based storyteller using song and poetry to tell stories with their guitar. An aspiring musician with a name in kind, they believe they should strive to be something easy to look up to. https://www.instagram.com/made_from_starlight/ or Listen to their EP at https://starlightsmith.bandcamp.com/album/something-good
