Connect, converse, and collaborate with peers driven by a common passion for advancing healthcare through technology. 🤩 About our Guest Speakers: Komal Bajaj Komal Bajaj, MD, MS-HPEd, is Chief Quality Officer at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi | North Central Bronx, where she catalyzes quality improvement transformation across all aspects of healthcare delivery. She also serves as Medical Director of Sustainability for NYC Health + Hospitals and is a Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Bajaj is an internationally recognized physician leader who transforms complex healthcare challenges through human-centered, technology-driven approaches. Her innovative work has enhanced clinical care in a wide variety of practice settings and has resulted in millions in savings annually. She is known for creating practical solutions in simulation-based quality improvement and operations that have been implemented in healthcare systems worldwide. Komal is an inaugural National Academies of Medicine Diagnostic Excellence Scholar and served as an advisor to the Secretary for Health and Human Services from 2022-2025. A board-certified OBGYN and reproductive geneticist, Dr. Bajaj trained at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, NPR, NEJM Catalyst, JAMA Health Forum, and BMJ Quality and Safety. She is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine and a Becker's Healthcare Review 2024 "Patient Safety Expert to Know". Austin Chiang Dr. Chiang is an interventional gastroenterologist and the inaugural Chief Medical Officer of the Endoscopy arm of Medtronic, the global medical technology and device leader, while also maintaining his clinical practice as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at a teaching hospital in Philadelphia. He completed his undergraduate degree at Duke University, earned his MD from Columbia University, and trained in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He further specialized in GI and bariatric endoscopy at Brigham and Women's Hospital, obtaining an MPH from Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health and finishing with an advanced endoscopy fellowship at Jefferson Health. A prominent advocate for patient education, Dr. Chiang is influential on social media, with over 700,000 followers and 180 million views across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. He has a strong background in social media research, previously serving as Chief Medical Social Media Officer at Jefferson Health and as the founding president of the Association for Healthcare Social Media. In 2021 he was GLAAD Media Award nominee, and in 2024 he was named among MM+M’s Healthcare Marketing Influencer Top 25. He has spoken at significant events such as SXSW and Aspen Ideas: Health, and his work has been highlighted by major media outlets. He sits on the inaugural YouTube Health Advisory Board and in 2022, joined the White House Healthcare Leaders in Social Media Roundtable.
