Join us Saturday, July 25 in Danville to celebrate John — a full day of the things he loved: morning hockey, an afternoon of stories and toasts, and live music on the green. Come for all of it or any of it, and bring your loved ones. THE DAY ⛸️ 9:00 AM — MEMORIAL SKATE at Dublin Iceland (7212 San Ramon Rd, Dublin), about 15 minutes from downtown Danville off I-680. Scrimmage first, then a free skate open to everyone. Rental skates provided, plus breakfast and coffee. We'll be off the ice by 11:15. You should have a separate invite for the skate — RSVP there if you're joining us on the ice. 🍴 11 AM–3 PM — LUNCH & FREE TIME on your own. Downtown Danville has no shortage of great lunch spots. Then enjoy the area — plenty to do: Hike the Remington Loop trail (trailhead at 253 Remington Loop) or Sycamore Valley Park Sit in the sun at Osage Station Park (816 Brookside Dr) Wander downtown Danville's shops and cafes 🥂 3–5 PM — CELEBRATION OF JOHN at the Veterans Memorial Building, 400 Hartz Ave, downtown Danville. Drinks and small bites. The loose plan: a welcome toast and a few short stories about John, plenty of time to mingle and trade stories of your own, and a thank-you toast to close. Don't forget to post your stories and memories on the website! 🎶 6 PM — MUSIC ON THE TOWN GREEN (400 Front St, a short walk away). Danville's free summer concert that evening is Dream Like Taylor, a Taylor Swift tribute band, 6–8 PM. We'll have a spot staked out in John's honor. Blankets and low chairs welcome. 🌙 AFTER — Keep the stories going over dinner and drinks downtown.
