AI is automating our work identifies, leaving us asking who we are if we aren’t what we do better than machines. The stories that used to tell us how to belong to each other, and to something larger than ourselves, haven't kept pace with the world we're actually living in. We need a new myth. We need a place to gather and explore how we got here and who we need to become to create a new reality in the metacrisis. The First Song is an original creation myth about astrophysics, anthropology and sociology. It is a story about the world we understand scientifically cast into the archetypical language of gods and goddesses humans have used since the beginning. You will experience this story as ritual theater: as a felt experience performed live with dancers that embody the living polarity of the elements we are made of. This isn't a professional dance company performing memorized choreography. The people you'll witness spent a full weekend together learning the elemental forms this myth moves through, bringing it into their own bodies, and expressing it for you. You will become part of a unique and singular expression of this story that will never be seen again in this form. Written and narrated by Emily Fields, a storyteller and ritual artist whose work rests on one conviction: the stories we tell create the world we inhabit. Choreographed by Brigitte Wittmer, a movement guide and the creator of Liquid Leading, who has spent two decades working at the layer where transformation happens: the body.
